We have gathered together some FAQ's just for you:
How close are you to the lake?
Lake Superior is right out of our backyard. Seagull Bay property runs right unto the Brownstone Trail, and the other side of the trail is the lake. Although you are unable to access the water from the motel, the nearest beach is just on the south side of town, and you can practically see it from the motel.
How close are you to town?
10-15 minute walk on the Brownstone Trail that is right out our front door. If you choose to take your car to town its about a 1- 2-minute drive.
What other amenities are in the room?
Coffee pot + coffee for all of our guests! Microwave and small refrigerator, so you can take your leftovers from your new favorite restaurant home. Plus, keep your favorite beverages chilled to sip and enjoy the views.
Bed size?
We offer almost all queen size beds, a few full size and twins added into the mix to bring your family or friends along for your travels. For full details, check out our sizing of rooms, and sleeping quarters online. www.seagullbay.com
Timing for check-in & checkout?
Check-in is between 3 pm and 6 pm. If you are arriving later then at 6 pm, please let us know so we can make arrangements to provide you with a room key. Check-out is 10 am. With prior notice, we can accommodate some late checkouts. Late checkouts cost $25 per hour. Please submit these requests the night before.
What is your parking situation?
One free off-street parking space is typically available for each guest room. Additional off-street parking is available on nearby streets, but please respect the neighboring businesses and do not park in their parking lots or your vehicle may be towed. Seagull Bay Motel is not responsible for damage or loss of property in parked cars, regardless of location.
Non-Smoking?
Seagull Bay Motel has been smoke-free since 1997. We are committed to providing a clean and fresh experience for you and any guest staying in the room following your stay. Renting a room means you're accepting of our smoke-free policy.
We do not permit smoking or the use of tobacco or tobacco products, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, hookahs, incense, or cigars. Also, prohibited are burning candles, the use or diffusing of patchouli oil or other strong-smelling plant-based oils.
Our smoke-free facility policy includes rooms, and anywhere on Seagull Bay Motel grounds. WE DO NOT HAVE A SMOKING AREA.
Smoking of any kind will result in a $250 cleaning fee so that guests will be able to enjoy the smoke-free experience we are committed to providing to all our guests.
What is the occupancy of the rooms?
Occupancy is between two and six people (depending on the specific room). Please let us know if you plan to have more then two people per room. There is an additional $10 fee per person per night in excess of two per room — children under six stay free.
Do you have air-conditioning?
Nighttime temperatures are rarely in the range where air conditioning is needed, so we do not have air conditioning. We do have fans you can use if your room is warmer than you would like it.
Do you have a vending machine?
Yes, we do have a vending machine, with water and an assortment of Coca-Cola soda products.
Do you have WiFi?
Yes, we have a newly updated wifi system up here in the Northwoods!
Do you allow dogs?
We welcome you and your canine friend to stay at the Seagull Bay Motel with approval. Please contact the front desk prior to your arrival. There is a one-time charge of $25 per dog. Failure to check-in your pet(s) will result in a $50 fee. By bringing your dog, you agree to abide by the full dog-friendly policy:
-Dogs are not to be left unattended in guest rooms; they must go with you at all times.
-Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their companion immediately on the grounds and properly disposing of the waste in the outside dumpster or as otherwise designated.
-Guests are liable for any damages and need for cleaning caused by their dog. Guests are responsible for paying the cost of repair or additional cleaning, including labor. The minimum damage repair cost is $250.
-Should your dog disturb the other motel guests, we will have no choice but to refuse to continue accommodation for your dog. Additionally, you will be held responsible for compensation given to other motel guests because of disturbances caused by your dog.
Are you a Big Top Chautauqua shuttle bus stop?
We are on the route for the Big Top Chautauqua shuttle bus stop. The bus picks you up and drops you off right here from the parking lot at Seagull Bay. The waiting area is the ice house deck. Please let the front desk know upon check-in so they can inform you of the most current pick up time.
