What to do in Bayfield?!

Houghton Falls is a beautiful hike for anyone. Kids love it as they are able to "hike" the whole trip themselves. Sandstone cliffs are amazing to see throughout the hike, but when you get to the end you will know why you took this hike. The view over the water is like none other.

Madeline Island will have you running back for more. Hop onto the ferry from Bayfield and within 30 minutes you will arrive, the ferry ride alone is worth the trip over with stunning views of the Apostle Islands. You will find grogeous beaches, sea caves, restaurants, shops, marinas, and parks. This little island has it all, and it's a great way to slip into "island time" while staying close to home.

Lets talk beaches:

Bayview Beach

Big Bay State & Town Park

Halvor Riten Park & Beach

Meyers Beach

Friendly Valley Beach

Joni's Beach

Thompson's West End Park

I don't need to say much more they all have Lake Superior for cooling off in, and views you won't forget.

Shopping is always a part of vacation weather your taking something home for the kids or a new sweatshirt for yourself. Support small businesses in times of need. Don't forget to stop on into Seagull Bay - A Lakeside Motel. We have an array of trendy lake attire, and want everyone to be as cozy as us.

Well, we have to eat, don't forget to stop on in for ice cream. You won't miss ice cream while cruising the streets.

The Brownstone Trail is right out Seagull Bay - A Lakeside Motels back door, and we couldn't be more thankful. With an easy walk and views of the lake, woods, and marinas. You will want to leave your car parked at the motel your whole trip.

Hike Houghton Falls, visit Madeline Island, hit the beach, shop, and support local, eat ice cream (you are on vacation after all), and walk the brownstone trail. There you have it, tips from a local who does this Bayfield thing day after day. We are excited for you to enjoy Bayfield, see you soon!
